Dr. Abdulaziz holds a Ph.D. from the University of Tulsa, an M.S. in from University of Texas, and a B.S. from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, all in Petroleum Engineering and with highest honor. In 2019, He was recognized as one Saudi Aramco’s top young innovators and was shortlisted for the sixth Energy Institute (EI) young energy professional of the year. He was recognized in 2009 for his role as the Vice-chairperson of the symposium MENA SPE YP steering committee that was held in Muscat, Oman.  He has working experiences in various departments within Saudi Aramco, where he lead key activities across the world’s largest onshore and offshore oilfields. Most importantly, he is the champion of the Kingdom's first carbon capture, utilization and sequestration (CCUS) and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) project, which is  the first transformative digital CCUS project in the world. He filed and disclosed more than 35 patents and has written over 30+ technical papers and reports.  Dr. Abdulaziz is a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) and Innovation Ecosystem Society (IES). He’s certified by Stanford Research Institute (SRI) and SPE.
