Johanna-Hlin Audunsdottir

Director of Climate and Environment, Landsvirkjun

 

Johanna Hlín Auðunsdóttir is the director of Climate and Environment at Landsvirkjun, the National Power Company of Iceland, a Sustainability Engineer (MSc) from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland and a Chevening Alumni. She holds a BSc in Civil- and Environmental Engineering from the University of Iceland. Jóhanna started working in the energy sector when she was only 18 years old, as a tour guide at a Geothermal Power plant, where she became enthusiastic about energy and the diversity and importance of the sector. Now 10 years later Jóhanna is the Director of Climate and Environment at Landsvirkjun where she manages a diverse team of environmental specialists and is responsible for leading Landsvirkjun’s climate plan on becoming carbon neutral by end of year 2025, its research on nature (flora and fauna) and the impacts caused by the company’s energy generation, as well as supporting other departments across the company regarding environmental matters. This includes various climate related projects, environmental management, EIA’s and research on the natural and biological environment.
