Ing. Justice Ohene-Akoto is a multiple award-winning Ghanaian Professional Engineer and Postgraduate Researcher. He was crowned Rising Star in Ghana’s Energy Sector at the Ghana Energy Awards 2020. He emerged a Forty Under 40 Achiever at the Forty Under 40 Awards 2020. He is the National Vice-President of Future Energy Leaders Ghana and an Electrical Engineer at the Volta Aluminium Company Limited. As an industry player and a researcher in the academia, he helps bridge the gap between these sectors. He served as a member of the Technical Committee for the International Conference on Advance Computing and Innovative Technologies in Engineering, an IEEE international conference. He has worked on a number of research projects which have been accepted in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. Ing. Ohene-Akoto has a Master of Philosophy in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in view. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the same University. He is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in Business Administration at the University of South Wales, UK.
Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO) is an aluminium smelter located in Tema, Ghana. VALCO continues to play key role in the efforts of Ghana Government to develop an Integrated Aluminium Industry (IAI). Using VALCO as the anchor of the IAI Project, Ghana is set to add value to its millions of metric tons of bauxite deposits in the country to generate income for socio-economic development. VALCO is currently the live wire of the downstream aluminium industry in Ghana through metal supplies, with its associated employment benefits.
