An energy and environment engineering professional with postgraduate degree in Environmental Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, and a bachelor’s degree from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka specializing in Chemical and Process Engineering. Following his master’s degree, he started working with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as a consultant where he has been involved in different roles in the energy sector with the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department (SDCC) and the South Asia Regional Department of ADB. Currently Keshan is working on ADB funded Renewable Energy Microgrid Project in Sri Lanka. He is providing his assistance to the Project Implementation Agency (Lanka Electricity Company (Pvt) Ltd (LECO) in carrying out project implementation work of the microgrid project and developing a business model to replicate microgrids in the country. In parallel, he is also working on several knowledge products for SDCC. Keshan is a co-author for several publications on renewable energy, policies and strategies development, energy security, financing for clean power particularly solar and wind, circular economy, plastic waste recycling, waste-to-energy, and smart cities development in regional context covering countries particularly Bangladesh, Maldives, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

LECO serves 565,000 customers and endeavors to operate its network at international standards and serve their customers at a service quality beyond their imagination.
