Masumba Matthew is an Electrical Engineer and holds a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University and a PgD in Project Planning & Management from the Uganda Management Institute. As a young professional, he is passionate about the use of engineering and management principles as a means of solving real life challenges and spurring sustainable development through projects. His professional journey thus far includes experience in construction projects and involvement in electrification projects aimed at increasing access to energy among rural communities through the acceleration of last mile connections to the grid. He is currently employed in the Hydroelectric power generation sub-sector by Bujagali energy, one of Uganda’s largest IPPs. He is proud to be part of a niche of professionals giving shape to a rapidly growing energy sector in his country and Africa as a whole

Bujagali Energy Limited owns the Bujagali Hydropower station, a run-of-river power plant located on the Nile 8km downstream of Lake Victoria. It has an installed capacity of 250MW (5 x 50MW) and has been in operation since commissioning in 2012.
