Tinashe is a passionate Renewable Energy professional with extended interests in Climate Change. He is driven by a manic fixation to solve energy related problems particularly in marginalized areas within the African context. His life's work is to provide a host of panaceas that contribute to the development of potent carbon cutting technologies while. Tinashe prides in some initiatives he is a part of including the development of Green Hydrogen and Solar Thermal systems in his country. All ongoing energy interventions he is involved in, are motivated by Zimbabwe's Nationally Determined Contribution at the Paris Agreement, to reduce coal based emissions by 33% per capita below the projected Business As Usual by 2030.
Tinashe is currently a Senior Energy Development Officer in the Ministry of Energy and Power Development which is the Government of Zimbabwe's arm which superintends over the entire energy sector in the country. It does this mainly through policy formulation which enables the strengthened development, adoption and widespread usage of various energy technologies. A fellow of the Global Capacity Development for Renewable Energy Life Academy of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), he is active in various renewable energy solutions focused on end user productive use of electricity in selected agricultural zones in Zimbabwe. Tinashe is currently a Joint Japan World Bank 2021 scholar studying for an MSc in Climate Change and Development at the University of Reading (UK).
